Giveaways
Spots on other projects' lists, given away to Emi holders. They also show up in the holders' section alongside everything else an Emi opens.
Nothing running right now.
Giveaways land here as OgBe sets them up. The holders' section lists every project an Emi already gets you into.
OgBe's side
Making a giveaway and drawing it are for OgBe. Everything above is open to holders.
No store connected, so this cannot go up by itself. Paste this into data/giveaways.json and it will show up the same way:
How the draw works
- A closing time is set. OgBe gives the giveaway a moment to end. The card counts down to it in the open.
- The clock lands and the draw runs itself. No button. The first person watching sets it off, and an hourly sweep catches any that closed with nobody there. Both get the same answer.
- The seed is the block that closed it. Whichever block on Robinhood Chain came first at or after the closing moment. Nobody can know its hash in advance, the closing time was public, and the block is on the chain forever — so anyone can look it up and re-run this.
- Everyone gets a number. Each wallet's number is
SHA-256("block hash : address : ticket"). Lowest numbers win. Where a giveaway gives more pieces more tickets, holding four means four tries at a low number, not four times the odds of anyone else's single try. - The whole draw gets published. Winners go on the card, and every entrant is listed in the order they came out with their number, so a holder who did not win can see exactly where they landed and redo the maths themselves.
One honest limit: the chain node only keeps ownership records for about ten minutes, so who held an Emi at the closing block cannot be re-derived from the chain later. That list is published in full with the result for exactly that reason. Everything after it — which of those wallets won — is checkable forever from the block hash alone.
